Xiangyin Gu, born and raised in Suzhou (China), is an artist based in London (United Kingdom). He is currently a PhD candidate at Royal College of Art, London. His interdisciplinary practice bridges writing and photography, with a particular focus on psychoanalytic explorations of memory, trauma, and intergenerational transmission. His work investigates the psychical spaces where temporality and history intersect, challenging conventional modes of representation. Gu’s long-term projects, Entangled Pasts and Eternal Return, explores alternative narratives of family history and collective memory.
