
Xiangyin Gu is an artist based in London. He is currently a PhD researcher at the Royal College of Art, London. Previously, he completed an MA in Photography at the Royal College of Art, London and an MSc in Psychology at Westminster University, London.
His interdisciplinary practice bridges writing and photography, with a particular focus on psychoanalytic explorations of memory, trauma, and intergenerational transmission. His work investigates the psychical spaces where temporality and history intersect, challenging conventional modes of representation. Gu’s long-term project, Entangled Pasts explores alternative narratives of family history and collective memory. His works have been exhibited at the Royal College of Art, Copeland Gallery and Fotofilmic Gallery.
